City DescriptionNorth Crossett is a census-designated place (CDP) in Ashley County, Arkansas, United States. It was the place that I lived from 1974 (the year of my birth, though I was born in Monroe, Louisiana)), until the year 1988, when my family finally earned enough money to move to the "rich" part of town in Crossett. "North Crosett", you see, was the place where mostly poor white folks lived. The population was 3,581 at the 2000 census.
North Crossett is located at 33°10′3″N 91°56′34″W / 33.1675, -91.94278 (33.167512, -91.942671).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 10.3 square miles (26.7 km²), of which, 10.3 square miles (26.6 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.29%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,581 people, 1,422 households, and 1,045 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 348.4 people per square mile (134.5/km²). There were 1,554 housing units at an average density of 151.2/sq mi (58.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 87.69% White, 10.42% Black or African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.14% Pacific Islander, 0.73% from other races, and 0.59% from two or more races. ...
