City DescriptionMorrilton is a city in Conway County, Arkansas, 51 miles (82 km) northwest of Little Rock. In 1890, 1,644 people lived here; in 1900, 1,707; and in 1910, 2,424. The town was home to Harding College, now Harding University of Searcy, Arkansas, for about a decade in the 1920s and 1930s. The population was 6,550 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Conway County.
Morrilton was the birthplace of former Lieutenant Governor Nathan Green Gordon (1916-2008), a distinguished naval aviator during World War II.
Former Governor Winthrop Rockefeller's WinRock Farms is located near there.
Morrilton is located at 35°9′23″N 92°44′31″W / 35.15639, -92.74194 (35.156373, -92.741944).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.5 square miles (22.1 km²), of which, 8.2 square miles (21.3 km²) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²) of it (3.75%) is water.
