    Hector is a town in Pope County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 506 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Russellville Micropolitan Statistical Area. Hector is located at 35°27′47″N 92°58′45″W / 35.46306, -92.97917 (35.463094, -92.979069). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 6.0 km² (2.3 mi²). 6.0 km² (2.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.43% is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 506 people, 190 households, and 143 families residing in the town. The population density was 84.6/km² (219.5/mi²). There were 219 housing units at an average density of 36.6/km² (95.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.64% White, 0.99% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 0.59% from other races, and 1.38% from two or more races. 2.57% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
