City DescriptionGravel Ridge is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 3,232 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Gravel Ridge is located at 34°52′12″N 92°11′13″W / 34.87, -92.18694 (34.870068, -92.187069).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km²), all of it land.
In a special election in early 2008, voters decided to annex to the adjacent city of Sherwood.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,232 people, 1,275 households, and 887 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,709.9 people per square mile (660.3/km²). There were 1,331 housing units at an average density of 704.2/sq mi (271.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 80.57% White, 14.17% Black or African American, 0.65% Native American, 1.08% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.11% from other races, and 2.38% from two or more races. 2.94% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
