City Description

Grady is a city in Lincoln County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 523 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Pine Bluff, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Grady is located at 34°14′26″N 91°42′3″W / 34.24056, -91.70083 (34.079551, -91.700722). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 523 people, 184 households, and 142 families residing in the city. The population density was 278.0 people per square mile (107.4/km²). There were 241 housing units at an average density of 128.1/sq mi (49.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 31.36% White, 65.77% Black or African American, 0.19% Asian, 1.72% from other races, and 0.96% from two or more races. 2.87% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 184 households out of which 34.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.5% were married couples living together, 21.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 20.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
