What is the Arkadelphia Arkansa Twister rated on the FUJITA scale( Not ef scale...) in 1997? Question: In 1997 there was a twister in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. On the FUJITA scale what was it rated?????
Answer:
I was living in Arkansas at that time and the same storm passed directly over our house and dropped an f3 on Sardis area and Vimy Ridge Rd, (Where I Lived); I beleive that the
Tornado that hit Arkadelphia was an F4 or an F3 that developed into a stronger system, Some said that it was one Big Twister with a pair of smaller twins spinning around it, thus all of the damage. I helped in the cleanup effort and from what I saw personally, I am somewhat convinced that what they say they saw might be right.

Why do the Dem's want to make Palin into the Arkansas style Ice Queen of the North? Question: They want to equate her with rural "white trash", when they worship the real deal in the form of Bill Clinton and family. Is this just more typical Democratic hypocrisy? BTW, she is far from the low-life caliber of Bill and Hillary Clinton. I should know, I live 25 miles from Hope and 60 miles from Hot Springs. I know most of the scumbags that the Clinton's associated with and even worked at the funeral home in Arkadelphia while James McDougal was being processed there.
Answer:
The more they can slime her, the better Obama would look.
They sure have a longggggggggg way to go, to make him look good!
I agree with you on your assessment of the Clintons. How soon people forget their roots.

i have to have a digital media card reader...like a memory card and all that.
i need a good battery...one that will last a long time.
built in speakers.
preferably microsoft word.
it would also be really great if i could get the student discount.

it'd be cool if i could get a bag or mouse or printer with it or something.
i'm really just looking for the best for less. plus my specifications, of course.
i've tried to build my laptop, but i can never seen to get it right....especially with the digital media card reader.
help!
thanks!
Answer:
#1 Wait 3 more months for the Christmas sales
#2 If you are worried about battary life make sure you have at least 1 gig of RAM ... if your laptop does not have enough RAM the processor has to work harder & the battary does not last as long.
#3 You seem to be focusing on "bells & whistles" You will have to make a choice ... get the fancy "bells & whistles" or get the faster processor and the larger RAM that will add to the lifespan of your computer.

Anyone know about Ouachita Baptist University?? Question: in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. I toured the campus the other day and loved it . Just wondering if anyone knew anything about it??
Answer:
Well, I hear that it is a wonderful campus and a great place to attend (based on the faculty).
College is really what you make of it. I personally attended UCA and UALR but just know that no matter where you attend - if you want to party there will be plenty of that or if you want to study there will also be plenty of that going on also.
My ranking would go . . .
1. UofA
2. Harding
3. Lyons / Ouachita

In Arkadelphia 119 Illegals Got Arrested And Deported And ...? Question: And most of the white residents of this Arkansas town got angry. Even the state's Republican governor got angry. You want to tell me why?
I already know the story. I just want to see where prejudice and human concern applies in your answers.
I'LL GIVE YOU A CLUE: THE PEOPLE OF ARKADELPHIA DIDN'T WANT THESE PEOPLE EITHER ARRESTED OR DEPARTED.

Answer:
Thank you for the link.
It appears that the immigrants in question weren't migrant workers traveling from place to place chasing seasonal work. These were members of a close-knit community that came to know each other as human beings rather than by race or immigration status.
In many communities, this is not the case. In some places the immigrants are migrant workers and don't spend enough time in any one place to become part of the community. In other areas, the immigrant population is largely segregated from other people in the community for a number of factors including financial status.
Without further research, I have to make a quick guess here, but I would say that the American citizens of Arkadelphia mostly fell in a similar financial bracket as the immigrants and they were all more likely to be neighbors than in areas where immigrants are the bulk of the poverty stricken. I expect the immigrants and American citizens in Arkadelphia were working similar jobs and earned similar incomes.
When you get to know somebody, they become human. These immigrants became human to the other residents of this town. The other residents didn't see low class strangers causing trouble, but actual people with feelings and families who were just after the same goals as themselves. Many probably hadn't even been aware of the immigrants' illegal status.
That is why they cared and that is why they were angry. Things were working fine as they were and that was disrupted.
