I just finished eating at Lackeys, and I really enjoyed it. It's a small place,and it's an old place. First let me say that I don't often frequent the big chain resturants, or the expensive gourmet places, I usually eat out two or three times a day and I like a variety, and I like a well prepared meal for a reasonable price, and service is very important also. Lackeys has all of those things. I had a combo meal that had Red Beans And Rice, Jambalaya, Texas Toast, and two Tamales, and it was only $5.99, that was the best meal that I have ever eaten for that price. It was very flavorful, and it filled me up.

Great place to eat family owned. Food is always fresh. The selection is not as big as some but everything is good. Alot of the food is spicy so if you don't like hot food then look at the labels.

It is such a pleasure eating at the Depot Diner. the buffet is always good, and especially like Thursday and Friday nights with the good pasta and catfish. It has been fun checking out the interesting pictures on the walls. Thanks to the Michaels for bringing the Depot Diner to life in Newport.

Once you live in newport for an extended period of time, you come to the conclusion that newport doesn't have much in the way of fine dining or an extensive collection of dine in restaurants. So if you are ever stuck in newport and need that mexican food fix... I suggest El Puente over the other two .
