City DescriptionTeec Nos Pos (pronounced /tiːsˈnɒspɒs/ in English, Navajo: T’iis Názbąs IPA: [tʼiːsnɑ́spɑ̃s]) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Apache County, Arizona, United States. The population was 799 at the 2000 census. The Navajo name of this community translates as "Cottonwoods in a Circle". It is the western terminus of U.S. Route 64.
Teec Nos Pos is located at 36°55′23″N 109°5′18″W / 36.92306, -109.08833 (36.923142, -109.088265).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 14.2 square miles (36.9 km²), of which, 14.2 square miles (36.9 km²) of it is land and 0.07% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 799 people, 227 households, and 182 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 56.1 people per square mile (21.7/km²). There were 317 housing units at an average density of 22.3/sq mi (8.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.50% Native American, 1.00% White, 0.13% from other races, and 2.38% from two or more races. 1.75% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
