3 Stars at best in any reasonably sized city. 5 stars in this town. This is the ONLY restaurant in Kayenta that has reasonably edible food so plan to eat here every night. There are only about seven restaurants in this town which includes McDonalds, Burger King and Sonic. The other three "Cafes" are just terrible. Unless you truly enjoy fast food and consider it a real meal, you will regret eating anywhere else. Reuben Heflin is in the Hampton Inn Hotel which is also the nicest hotel. Salads are passable. Sandwiches ok. The pizza is terrible and would make you crave the worst Domino's you have ever eaten. It's hit and miss but the best on offer here. Bring your own food or go to the mini grocery store and try to make your own.

Love their Navajo sandwiches, Navajo ham or try the Navajo beef sandwiches. The fry bread holding the sandwich together is outstanding, fluffy yet crispy. Enjoyed the cowboy atmosphere and the customers are all locals and know that their restaurant is the best in the area. Sure there are the local Holiday Inn but you cannot beat that local flavor and the Golden Sands restaurant experience. Truly a wonderful place to visit, the Monument Valley and to experience a satifying meal is just the cherry on the top.
