Cohoe is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 1,168. Cohoe is located at 60°18′5″N 151°17′45″W / 60.30139°N 151.29583°W / 60.30139; -151.29583 (60.301277, -151.295952). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 72.6 square miles (188.1 km²), of which, 69.7 square miles (180.6 km²) of it is land and 2.9 square miles (7.5 km²) of it (3.99%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,168 people, 445 households, and 295 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 16.7 people per square mile (6.5/km²). There were 630 housing units at an average density of 9.0/sq mi (3.5/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 90.15% White, 0.26% Black or African American, 4.54% Native American, 0.60% Asian, 0.17% Pacific Islander, 0.60% from other races, and 3.68% from two or more races. 1.71% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 445 households out of which 34.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% were married couples living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% were non-families.
