  In addition to the communitywide Thanksgiving dinners, many organizations are pitching in this winter season to make the holidays happy ones for seniors, both mobile and homebound.

City Description

Talladega Springs is a town in Talladega County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 124. Talladega Springs is located at 33°7′15″N 86°26′43″W / 33.12083, -86.44528 (33.120713, -86.445266). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.3 km²), of which, 1.2 square miles (3.2 km²) of it is land and 0.79% is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 124 people, 57 households, and 38 families residing in the town. The population density was 99.7 people per square mile (38.6/km²). There were 65 housing units at an average density of 52.3/sq mi (20.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 91.13% White, 6.45% Black or African American, 0.81% Native American, and 1.61% from two or more races. 1.61% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 57 households out of which 26.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% were married couples living together, 3.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 33.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
