City Description

Rosa is a town in Blount County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 313. Rosa is located at 33°59'23.316" North, 86°30'42.977" West (33.989810, -86.511938). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.8 square miles (9.8 km²), of which, 3.8 square miles (9.8 km²) of it is land and 0.26% is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 313 people, 125 households, and 93 families residing in the town. The population density was 82.9 people per square mile (32.0/km²). There were 136 housing units at an average density of 36.0/sq mi (13.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.68% White and 0.32% Native American. 0.64% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 125 households out of which 39.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% were married couples living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
