City DescriptionPollard is a town in Escambia County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 120.
Pollard is located at 31°1′38″N 87°10′20″W / 31.02722, -87.17222 (31.027340, -87.172342).
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km²), all of it land.During the war of northern aggresion Pollard was a large depot and confederate training headquarters. In fact, larger then West Point but the war destroyed the whole town exept a few houses.
As of the census of 2000, there were 120 people, 48 households, and 33 families residing in the town. The population density was 107.6 people per square mile (41.7/km²). There were 64 housing units at an average density of 57.4/sq mi (22.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 51.67% White, 41.67% Black or African American, 1.67% Native American, 0.83% from other races, and 4.17% from two or more races. 1.67% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
