Louisville is located at 31°46'49.112" North, 85°33'26.629" West (31.780309, -85.557397).
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.1 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 612 people, 242 households, and 168 families residing in the town. The population density was 222.8 people per square mile (85.9/km²). There were 271 housing units at an average density of 98.6/sq mi (38.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 52.94% White, 40.69% Black or African American, 0.65% Native American, 5.23% from other races, and 0.49% from two or more races. 6.37% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 242 households out of which 26.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.5% were married couples living together, 14.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.2% were non-families. 26.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
