City DescriptionLevel Plains is a town in Dale County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 1,544. It is part of the Enterprise–Ozark Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Mayor Tyrus L. Waters is the seventh mayor to serve since the town was incorporated in July 1965.
The Town Hall is located at 1708 Joe Bruer Road, which is also known as the old Alabama state route 134. The Level Plains town government includes a mayor and 5 city council members, a town clerk, a court majestrat, a police department, water department and a volunteer fire department. The town is serviced by both the Daleville and Enterprise U.S. Postal Offices, with the town hall using the Daleville, AL 36322 postal address. The predominate north-south road is Dale County Road 1, with U.S. Highway 84 bisecting west to east through the middle of the incorporated areas.
Level Plains is located at 31°18′49″N 85°46′2″W / 31.31361, -85.76722 (31.313659, -85.767307).
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.9 square miles (7.6 km²), all of it land.
