    Leesburg is a town in Cherokee County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 799. Leesburg is located at 34°10'57.446" North, 85°46'8.350" West (34.182624, -85.768986). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 6.4 square miles (16.7 km²), of which, 6.4 square miles (16.6 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.31%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 799 people, 338 households, and 255 families residing in the town. The population density was 124.4 people per square mile (48.1/km²). There were 526 housing units at an average density of 81.9/sq mi (31.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.12% White, 0.38% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.13% from other races, and 0.13% from two or more races. 0.38% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
