City Description

Lake View is a town in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 1,357. It is part of the Tuscaloosa, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lake View is located at 33°16′48″N 87°8′19″W / 33.28, -87.13861 (33.279933, -87.138667). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km²), of which, 1.6 square miles (4.1 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.6 km²) of it (12.57%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,357 people, 457 households, and 405 families residing in the town. The population density was 847.7 people per square mile (327.5/km²). There were 475 housing units at an average density of 296.7/sq mi (114.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.35% White, 0.81% Black or African American, 0.07% Native American, 0.22% Asian, and 1.55% from two or more races. 0.22% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 457 households out of which 44.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 82.3% were married couples living together, 3.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 11.2% were non-families. 10.1% of all households were made up
