Blue Mountain is a town in Calhoun County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 233. It is included in the Anniston-Oxford, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. Blue Mountain is located at 33ￂﾰ41'19.028" North, 85ￂﾰ50'15.277" West (33.688619, -85.837577). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.1ￂﾠsquare mile (0.2ￂﾠkmￂﾲ), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 233 people, 104 households, and 56 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,670.4 people per square mile (999.6/kmￂﾲ). There were 125 housing units at an average density of 1,432.6/sqￂﾠmi (536.3/kmￂﾲ). The racial makeup of the town was 76.82% White, 14.59% Black or African American, 0.86% Asian, 7.30% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. 6.01% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 104 households out of which 19.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 32.7% were married couples living together, 16.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.2% were non-families. 42.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years
