    Black is a town in Geneva County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Dothan, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. At the 2000 census the population was 202. According to the 2005 U.S. Census estimates, the town had a population of 205. Black is located at 31°0′40″N 85°44′40″W / 31.01111°N 85.74444°W / 31.01111; -85.74444 (31.011112, -85.744365). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.0 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 202 people, 85 households, and 57 families residing in the town. The population density was 65.6 people per square mile (25.3/km²). There were 102 housing units at an average density of 33.1/sq mi (12.8/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 94.06% White, 5.45% Black or African American and 0.50% Native American. There were 85 households out of which 29.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were married couples living together, 9.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.8% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
